My brother just got his pilots license, and lives across the country. As a graduation gift, I would like to pay for him to fly from Missouri to California to visit me. I can’t seem to find information online anywhere regarding a daily or weekly rental rate. I am hoping there is such a thing. . .
Different Fixed Based Operators (FBO’s) will have different rates for long term rentals. Most though will have at least some sort of minimum hour requirement per day. The previous answer that said 3 hours a day is probably pretty close. Also if your brother has never rented from them in the past he will have to have a check out from one of the FBO’s instructor which will add on to the price.
Try to find out some airports near by your brother and then do a search of those online. You should get some hits for FBO’s or flight schools at the airport by doing this. Then call them and ask for their rental rates as well as whether or not they do long term rentals. This is the only way you will find out whether or not what you want is possible.
While the other answers are correct that you will spend much more money this way than buying a commercial plane ticket, a long trip would be a good experience for your brother if he’s up to it. If he’s working on his next ratings, he may need to build time anyway. Good luck with everything.

Look in the local classified ads for "rooms for rent" or "roommate wanted" and so forth. Most of those folks are private parties and are not going to bother trying to verify your employment.

I was wondering how legit these companies are. I realize that for $125 all you get is a room and I’m willing to pay $200 for a private bathroom and any other amenities I might want. What I’m wondering is location.
Are these rooms in bad/unsafe/far off locations? I’m talking about NYC, btw.
both ad agencies and philosophers indicate a name has value.
I get examples of both daily and today, yours is a perfect example.
"for rooms to rent, use HOME invasion"—-HOW awful!

My family will be in Central Florida for a week in march. We’re looking to rent something with 2+ bedrooms. How can I do that?
Unless you care nothing about what you spend on the place I would steer clear of searching for "Vacation Rentals" in a search engine online. The one found that way can be very expensive.
I would try http://www.craigslist.org. You just find the area in Florida you will be closest to and then start searching in "Houses for Rent", "Temporary Housing", and "Vacation Rentals" all listed under the Real Estate heading.. For the best results, you can actually post an add in the "Housing Wanted" section. You don’t have to register with the site or anything – just provide an email so your responses can be sent there. Posting here will allow you to specify exactly what you need and when you will need it and even what you are looking to pay, but for the best results I would just leave that part blank.
You’ll be surprised how quickly people begin contacting you. And not just for housing – craigslist is a great way to find/sell/trade/advertise just about anything. And its FREE.
