this renter is not happy with my vaction rental and wants a partial refund. I have already discounted the price two times. they have visited the property before and knew what they were getting and now claim it is not as advertised. what do I do?
You can cover yourself by going in person to the property before you accept their money. You can not conduct business via the Internet without having some problems.
How far away is this property from where you are currently living? If you did not meet them in person, how do you know that they are not telling the truth?
Why would you discount the property twice? It sounds like you are aware that the property is not up to pare for the money that you are charging. ARE YOU A SLUMLORD?
I hope that you had them signed a rental agreement, and it should have stated the current conditions of all rooms and equipment. If this is true, when you will have nothing to worry about.

I live in Ohio and I’m wondering if a florida property that I would try to have rented out the majority of time would be a good investment.
With property prices, taxes, and insurance as high as they are here in FL right now, it might not be as good an idea as it once was. You’ll have a much harder time making money off of it as a rental, than you would have in years past (before our bad hurricane year).
this property is only land and I had plans to build a house and I even hired an architech, but I ran out of funds and we never started the project. I want to quit my job and start a business in december. I don’t know if I should try to sell know before the summer ends or wait.
You can sell a vacation property for any reason you like. I’d sell it when the market is hot.

Looking to purchase waterfront property in along Florida’s coast w/ beautiful views. Problem is, can’t narrow down which area. I am thinking not as far south as Ft. Lauderdale and wondering if the Gulf side is more desirable.
Looking for a city near an area with lots of restaurants, activities, but NOT in the center of a tourist city. I.E. Daytona, Clearwater…
yeah, there are great beaches in the panhandle but they always get hit with the hurricanes.
