The husband and I are trying to look into cheap vacation house that we can one day retire too but for now visit often. We really want to live close to the beach. Anybody have an suggestions. We would like to buy a house for no more then 230,000 USA dollars.
If you consider countries in Asia, then Philippines in the most convenient place to purchase properties along the beach. With that amount, you can definitely own a fabulous beach house here in the Philippines.

I’m from the Northeast and am considering buying a vacation home in Florida. I’d like to stay south of Tampa on the West and Palm Bay on the East. Any suggestions? Looking for relaxation, sun, the ocean, and nice restaurants, and low crime.
In my opinion, I spent 20 years living in south Florida. I grew up in Coral Springs which is right next to Pompano Beach. I wouldn’t go any further south than Jupiter. It’s close enough to Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale, even Miami (if you don’t mind the drive) to have the culture. But the crime is lower it’s not as crowded and the people are more friendly. I personally like the west coast better. I like Naples or Venice Beach. That area is more relaxed. More tropical atmosphere.
Hope the opinion helps some.

We went to Myrtle Beach several years back and rented a beach house. It was a 4 bedroom beach house that we rented from a local hotel place. It was walking distance from Broadway on the Beach. I cant remember the name of the place to save my life, but we absolutely loved it and would like to book another vacation there.
The beach house was right next too a place called San Marcos Villa. It had a playground inside the pool, lazy rivers. Dont know if that helps, but if anyone has any clue could you please help me out.. Thanks
You could try looking at Owner Direct Vacation Rentals: http://www.ownerdirect.com. They seem to have quite a selection of vacation rentals in Myrtle Beach: http://www.ownerdirect.com/accommodations/myrtlebeach.htm. There’s also another page for vacation rentals in Myrtle Beach and Area: http://www.ownerdirect.com/lodging/myrtle-beach-and-area so perhaps they have the place you remember, or another that’s close to what you’re looking for.
I’ve been using them for years, and have always found just the right place for my trip.
Hope you find what you’re looking for! Have a great trip!

I am thinking about it, and the prices are good right now. My idea is to buy one and then put in on Vacation Rentals by the week. What is the occupancy rate (weeks in a year) that Vacation Rental Houses near Disney (Florida) have? I hear occupancy could be minimum 25 weeks in a year and someone else tells me it is minimum 35 weeks in a year. Can anybody help with any information?
Thanks in Advance.
Sure, real estate costs a good bit less than 5 years ago.
You need to use a renting management co. to try to keep it occupied and in good shape?
So you’re buying a rental property, for now, and down the road you’ll sell to an occupying owner?
Do you go on vacation and stay in hotel or rent a house?
Good luck.
