My summer house rental has roaches. How can I keep from taking them back home with me when I leave in Sept.?

Posted on Feb 24, 2010 under summer rentals | 8 Comments

I’m afraid when I pack up my stuff (luggage, clothes etc.) to move back home, they’ll be lurking. What is the best way to prevent me from transporting them back to my uninfested house in CA?

It is impossible. Let me tell you a small story. I felt sorry for a friend of mine who moved into an apartment that had roaches. She was only in her place for less than three weeks. The landlord even called the exterminator. She was in tears, so I offered her to stay into an empty home I was selling until she could find another apartment. She stayed in my empty home for three weeks. After she moved out, I began to see roaches!! The best way to eliminate them, is to not only call the exterminator, but to completely remove everything in the house and get rid of it.. In our case they were German Roaches. It was a night mare, and a very costly one at that…. Leave your stuff… Its not worth the thousand I spent to get rid of the roaches.

If it is something you HAVE to have, When you get home, unpack out on the front lawn and go over everything with a fine tooth comb before it comes back into your home. Really, its not worth it… Sorry..

Where can I find a seasonal, summer rental in Northern Idaho/Washington?

This person is looking for temporary accomodations for one–a small trailer, a furnished room, a studio apartment, etc–for about 4-5 months only–at the Lewis and Clark Valley, or north of that. They are on fixed-income, and do not want to sign a lease other than month-to-month.

Are the beach condo rentals on ebay legit. They seem mighty cheap for a week in the summer?

Posted on Feb 18, 2010 under summer rentals | 1 Comment

Yes, they are. If they were not, eBay would have removed them as soon as they were up, or they would never have been up. THings are incredibly cheap on there. I bought a swarovsky crystal jewelry set on there for $15.
